DALLAS, TX - Potential 2012 presidential candidate Sarah Palin says that if she were president, she would deport pop star Christina Aguilera for botching a portion of The Star-Spangled Banner during her performance at Super Bowl XLV.  Making an appearance on Sean Hannity's radio program on Monday, Palin pointedly criticized Aguilera's gaffe, and called her out for exhibiting 'diva behavior.'
"Quite frankly, Sean, public figures must be held accountable for what they say," explained Palin.  "Here's another case of an airhead diva going on TV, running her mouth off, sounding like a fool.  She doesn't understand something so basic about America, yet we're supposed to tolerate her diva behavior?  Americans can see through that, Sean."

Palin also levied criticism on the Obama administration for allowing "spicy Latin princesses" to do the jobs of American pop divas.  "Unemployment is at nine percent, yet we have to suffer through a performance by a foreigner with a poor grasp of the English language.  If I were president, I'd deport Ms. Aguilera back to wherever it is she's from and give Amy Grant a call."  Aguilera was, in fact, born in New York and grew up in Pennsylvania.
Though Palin was critical of Aguilera's performance, she claimed her attack on the songstress wasn't personal.  "I'm sure Ms. Aguilera is a very nice person, but I just think the American people deserve better than a demanding beauty queen who's clearly in over her head."

Editors' Note: Gov. Palin has since refudiated these remarks.

Wow, Palin sounds like she's describing herself:

"Here's another case of an airhead diva going on TV, running her mouth off, sounding like a fool."

As ignorant and delusional as always.

Really?

"... I just think the American people deserve better than a demanding beauty queen who's clearly in over her head."

Palin definitely sounds like she's describing herself.

Note to Palin's handlers - get all the facts before you turn this woman loose to do an interview.

The stupidity of this woman never ceases to amaze me.

Palin is another one of those racist people who think that because you aren't white, you must be from another country. f*** you Palin.

@ Leader, Really?, and Kimmy: This is satire. Ms. Palin said none of those things. Although, from comments elsewhere, this story must read as "true" to many people. It was even reported as fact on the San Francisco NBC affiliate's morning news.

Poe's Law:
"Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing."

Note the word "blatant." Most of your readers will never think to look at the About Us page. Remember, half of all Americans are below the median, and many of the rest will park on it to watch the fireworks.

Could you prove me wrong if I asserted that the satire is really the idea that people actually pay any attention to the opening hoopla? Noone I know does...

02/09/2011 8:13am

And if she were president, she would randomly deport people she didn't approve of? How American of you, Sarah!

Look up "satire" and please sit out the next election. Thanks

Isn't satire supposed to be funny?

You make up a bunch of crap about somebody you don't like and then laugh at your own jokes. That is not funny.

This story reminds me of the "Home Video" shows on cable TV where the host shows clips of people getting hurt bad and everyone in the studio audience laughs.

Not funny, just ignorant.

I particularly liked how after a couple of people pointed out it was a satire piece, at least one person still couldn't quite wrap their tiny little brain around the fact that it ain't true. Pretty sad commentary on society...

This a spoof website that goes out of their way not to make that clear. Both them and the US Weekly site should be sued for slander.

::sigh:: Before anyone else comments you are required to post the definition of satire. Do not post without understanding the nature of satire. Then realize that this is satire. Unfortunately those who hate Governor Palin tend to take anything they can to attack her. So if Tina Fey plays the Governor, Fey's jokes are taken as actual quotes. SuperTuesdayNews fakes comments by the Governor and the Liberal Media and their sycophants go gaga about how terrible she is. Look up satire!

By the way, way to go US weekly! Great reporting.

It is a trip to see how many people think these quotes are real. I will bet that many of these think the SNL quotes were really said by Palin. Man, Palin Derangement Syndrome is alive and well...

The National Anthem should be played by a military band, or a good high school band, at these types of events, while the crowd sings along. The celebrity singer is a requirement of TV suits, wanting to create a "show" that overrides the event itself.

The fact that this story has been taken as literal and reported on as news proves that due diligence is almost non-existent in the main stream media. Just clicking on the "Front Page" icon at the top of the page would clearly show the reader that this site is pure satire. This should serve to show people that the MSM is not to be trusted to get to the bottom of anything these days.

Wow, like this story is believable! I wouldn't fall for this story even if they said Keith Olbermann called her a latin princess that needs deported. This website just proved its credibility. I'm a hardcore "Liberal" and I always enjoy some Palin slams but come on, this is beyond reality!! Whoever is in charge of this website must be some 14 year old boy writing this crap from his bedroom while mommy and daddy are at work. Get a real job LOSERS!!!

I've never seen such blatant idiocy. The Left has no clue what satire is. They simply see a story that supposedly pertains to Sarah Palin and SP Derangement Syndrome kicks into high gear.

Because the right knows what satire is? Don't they often take Colbert seriously?

Many people who have no real political affiliation fell for it, its not a big deal.

As always, Sarah Palin is falsely accused once again - CHECK THE FACTS -
this was another example of people who don't know what they are talking about. She never made those comments and deserves a PUBLIC, WRITTEN apology for a total fabrication.

The reason so many people think these are real quotes is because it sounds just like the kind of thing Sarah Palin normally says. Ignorant, wrong, and with a heavy dose of implied racism. That's what makes this especially good satire. Duh.

LMAO
02/10/2011 12:35pm

Hilarious how the progressives can't admit they're wrong but try to use their prejudices to trash Palin. Taking this seriously says far more about your bigotry than anything about Palin. The hater left is in full effect here.

That super-fine looking Sarah Palin ought to make a Presidential swimsuit callendar. She's hot and I can't wit too vote for a pretty girl who ain't ashamed to be a racist. As an American, I am ashamed and surprised to say that the United States is quite hypocritical. Americans like to say that they love freedom and justice, but here are some examples of where American actions conflict with American standards:

1. The US inspected a Soviet Union fighter jet that landed in Japan in 1976, but protested that China should not search an American plane that landed in China in 2001.

http://home.iwichita.com/rh1/hold/av/avhist/mily/spyplane.htm

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/asiapcf/east/04/02/china.aircollision.03/

2. The Fifth Amendment of the Bill of Rights clearly states that people should not be subject to the same offense twice, but sex offenders can be convicted of crimes and then later be required to register as sex offenders and be held for life under indefinite civil commitment laws even after they complete their original sentences. “John TV” shows that embarrass and punish people arrested on prostitution charges also violate the Fifth Amendment guarantee of due process rights.

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/01/12/scotus.sex.offender.law/index.html

http://www.acluofnorthcarolina.org/?q=due-process

3. The Sixth Amendment guaranteeing the right to speedy trials is violated by holding prisoners at Guantanamo Bay without charge. The Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishments and is violated by torturing Guantanamo Bay prisoners. Whether the prisoners are foreigners or not makes no difference because it violates the intent of the Constitution and sends the message to other nations that human rights violations are acceptable. Taking the moral high ground is difficult when you are immoral yourself. If you want to prevent terrorism, give terrorists a trial, improve airline security, and don’t give out visas easily. Torturing suspected terrorists only recruits more terrorists. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

http://www.historiansagainstwar.org/resources/torture/cohn.html

4. The Fourth Amendment protection against illegal searches is violated by the Patriot Act that allows secret warrants.

http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/webster/090419

5. The Fourth Amendment protection against illegal searches and seizures, the Fifth amendment that allows due process, and the Eighth Amendment that forbids excessive bail, fines, and cruel and unusual punishment are all violated by DUI checkpoints and asset forfeiture laws.

http://detnews.com/article/20091112/METRO/911120388/Police-property-seizures-ensnare-even-the-innocent

6. The Fourth Amendment protection against illegal searches and the Fourteenth Amendment that guarantees equal protection of the law is violated by Arizona’s immigration law that requires police to question people who look like illegal immigrants. Illegal immigration would be better stopped by having a strong border and fining employers of illegal immigrants, not by profiling Americans who look like foreigners.

http://www.salem-news.com/articles/may062010/arizona-law-rs.php

7. The United States criticizes Iran and North Korea for developing nuclear power, but the US helps the United Arab Emirates, India, and Vietnam develop nuclear technology.

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2010/08/07/us_vietnam_nuke_deal_likely_to_allow_enrichment/

8. The USA supports democracy, but has overthrown democratically elected leaders in Iran and Chile. The US also supports countries that do not have religious freedom and democracy like Saudi Arabia and has supported dictators like Ferdinand Marcos from the Philippines, Ngo Dinh Diem in Vietnam, Suharto in Indonesia, and Saddam Hussein from Iraq .

http://www.military-veterans-for-justice.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=10&Itemid=13

9. The US opposes terrorism, but has supported Osama bin Laden and freed the accused Cuban terrorist Luis Posada Carriles suspected of blowing up a plane in 1976.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2001/09/15/osama-qna.htm

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2007/may/15/theterroristbushisntafter

10. The United States says that it supports free trade, but foreign companies can currently only own 25% of an airline in the US, while American companies can buy 49% of an airline in Europe.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=atMw6Pzh8Ls0

11. The United States criticizes Airbus for receiving European government subsidies while ignoring the fact that Boeing accepted government tax breaks.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/04/business/global/04wto.html

Maybe it is just human nature, but Americans have always looked for an enemy to blame from witches to blacks to Communists. Today people are aghast that the US had Japanese concentration camps and once allowed slavery and segregation. How will people look back on the treatment of sex offenders, Muslims, and illegal immigrants in the USA 60 years from now?
